Hello,
The system on my Dell Laptop was running smoothly for 10 months with Office
2003 TS Edition preinstalled from the Dell factory, but then I had to do a
complete XP reinstall due to an issue with my cd-rom drive not being
recognized. After reinstalling the system, I reinstalled Office 2003 and the
system began to freeze. I could not even open the task manager. At first I
thought it was Mcaffee causing problems so I uninstlled it. But the problem
kept occurring. I reinstalled yet again another fresh XP system and reinstalled
Office as well. I opened Word and it locked up. I tried uninstalling and
reinstalling Office four or five times and the system even locked up up on the
uninstall. Every other program locks up eventually as well with Office
installed. I have since removed Office altogether and my PC works great again!!
Luckily, I have Office on my Mac (OS 10.4) and it runs flawlessly. Macs, gotta
love em!! I would however like to work in Word on my Dell PC, but really don't w
 ant to
deal with it at this point. If anyone knows of any known issues, I'd love to
hear about them. So far, I have seen this issue reported twice at other tech
sites. Each instance, including mine, has happened within the past month - odd.

PS. I know there are troubleshooting steps on the main website for this list,
but before I started trying each one, I thought I'd bounce this off anyone to
see if he/she could help me narrow down to a certain specific issue.

Thanks,
John
