Ok James...I just tested it....I made a style called James that had 8 pts
after the paragraph...then I made a new style named James Less, based on
James, that had 0 pts after the paragraph and it worked fine.
Am I misunderstanding you? Is this what you are saying you can't do? What
do you mean when you say it's not possible? Do you get an error message or
something?

Styles
I have created one style (Style A) that specifies line spacing of 8 pts
after the paragraph.
I have created a second (Style B) based on Style A on which I wish to
specify line spacing of 0 points after the paragraph.
Testing indicates that while it is possible to make Style B have MORE
line spacing than Style A, it is not possible to make Style B have LESS
line spacing than Style A.
It appears that Publisher can store Style B as "Style A plus extra
leading", but cannot store Style B as "Style A with less".
I'm attempting to
(a) confirm that my testing is true
(b) determine whether it is expected (a feature) or unexpected (a bug)
