You need to use the format function within each cell. Highlight the cell =
and
right click on it and select format and then go to the protection tab. =
You
can also highlight multiple cells by holding down your CTRL key and =
click on
the cell and then while still holding down CTRL highlight another. =
Select
Lock from the protection tab. Then use the tools menu to turn worksheet
protection on and off. Even if you specify a cell as being locked it is =
not
locked until protection is turned on.

I am trying to set up worksheets for budgets that other people will be
updating.  I want to protect only some cells in the worksheet and allow =

to input in other cells on that same sheet.  When I go into tools, it =

allows me to protect the entire sheet.  How can I just protect certain
cells?
