Thanks Abed and Dian

I have read the kb article several times.

I have no add ins loaded. I have no templates open other than Normal.dotm.
there are no macros in normal.dotm. I have turned on the prompt to save
Normal.dotm option because I want to know!

If I open with the shift key down the problem is still there.

If I open using "run/winword /a" the problem is not there unless I set the
prompt to save on, when it comes back.

I have tried uninstalling acrobat reader. No difference

This is driving me nuts.

Best Regards
