Cool....definitely slipstick is the place to go when you need Outlook
stuff...everyone in this group should bookmark them.
To use them in your rule....it's in the third part of the rules wizard,
where you tell Outlook what to do with the mail, there's an option in the
list that says to "apply a custom action"...when you choose that, in the
bottom window click on the underlined words "custom action"...then you will
have a dropdown box to choose the custom action...just select the one you
installed.

Have fun :-)

Linda,

Thanks for the heads up on that website. They had two programs which
installed the mark as read custom action in Outlook. They're called
MarkRead and AutoRead. While I need to do some investigating on how to use
either of them in my rule set, they do appear to do exactly what I want.

Thanks again,

Mike
