Hello;
Will you tell me where you found the programs that you speak of below?

Thank you,

Linda,
Thanks for the heads up on that website. They had two programs which
installed the mark as read custom action in Outlook. They're called
MarkRead and AutoRead. While I need to do some investigating on how to use
either of them in my rule set, they do appear to do exactly what I want.

Thanks again,

Mike

Hi Mike...I was just looking at Outlook 2k and the only way I can see to do
this is to choose the option to "apply a custom action"...however, a custom
action requires a macro and I know nothing about creating macros in Outlook

But, if you can create a macro to mark messages as read, then the custom
action would be your answer...hope that at least points you in the right
direction...maybe go to slipstick.com and see what they can teach you ...
And if you figure it out, let us know :-)

Does anyone know if there is a way to mark messages as read in a rule in
Outlook 2000? I know this can be done easily in Outlook XP.
