Replying to my own post: I just tried System Restore also no avail. I feel
like it is related to the two rules I attempted to make, but how and where
do I delete all rules if they are not listed under Rules Wizard? Thank
you. -Robert

Subject: [mso] Outlook 2000: Cannot move email

For a few months, I have been keeping emails that are informative enough for
me to use as reference. It has gotten way out of hand. To control this, I
tried to make two filter rules. Now, I cannot move email, and the filters
are not working.

Would deleting the filters restore my ability to move email again? If not,
what will?

When I try to move email, the message "The messaging reference interface has
returned an unknown error. If problem persists, restart Outlook."

I have restarted Outlook. I have rebooted. All to no avail. I tried finding
the rules so I could just delete them, as the problem started immediately
after I made the two rules. None are listed in the Rules Wizard. Thinking it
may fix the problem, I installed a competing email client. It could not
access Outlook for importing email, giving me an error that said the filter
rules were in conflict and could not be imported. Then, I deleted that email
client.

Now, how to fix Outlook? What should I do? Try System Restore? I just soon
not lose some email if I can help it.

Thank you.

Robert
