I know Linda is aware of all this since we've covered it before. But for
general information:

This issue with the time stamp has to do with the time stamps at two
servers: turing.freelists.org and your POP3 server. The last stamp wins so
I'd suggest that if your computer's time is correct then the issue is
probably at your ISP's time server. Also, the [mso] header is applied at
turing.freelists.org for all messages for this list. It does this simply
by looking at which list the message is sent to and pre-pending that value
to the subject line after confirming that such a list exists and that you
are a member of it with posting privileges.

Here are the pertinent headers for the message I'm replying to. When you
get my message, this one, compare the similar header fields and the
pattern will start to come alive. If you want to work on a custom solution
of your own, it's in these message headers that you'll find the
information you need for sorting. Unfortunately, most of the mail readers
out there make getting to this sort of a content a bit nightmarish.
Anyway, here's the header data. Let's watch it evolve!
