I just upgraded from Win95 and Outlook98 to Win2000 and the Outlook that is in Office 2000. Most things operate in a familiar way. Some don't. I have noticed that when processing mail from some subfolders in my inbox, a preview pane shows. I have heard that this is insecure. On the VIEW menu I can select and toggle preview pane and auto preview. What I have been doing is turning off (via the VIEW menu) preview pane whenever it shows up. I always have auto-preview turned off. Am I safe, or am I already compromised when the preview pane shows up? If I am compromised by the preview pane, how do I ensure that it is always off?
