Hello,

I am experiencing some problems with Microsoft Word on my computer and
wondered if anyone could offer any suggestions or help?

I'm planning a book and tried opening one of the chapters a couple of days
ago to work on - but as soon as the Word file opens and I click anywhere on
the page, the mouse pointer turns to an eggtimer and I get "[document name]
- Microsoft Word Not Responding" in the bar above the File, Edit, etc, bar
at the top of the screen.

My only option is CTRL+ALT+DEL, after which I am forced to End Task and
close the program. When I reopen it, I receive a message reading "A table in
this document has become corrupted. To recover the contents of the table:
select the table and choose Convert Table To Text from the Table Menu".
Firstly, the message does not identify WHICH table is corrupted, nor will
the mouse pointer even activate the drop-down Table menu for me to action
the message!

I have pretty much resigned myself that this file is lost, but in the past
have managed to recover some data by right-clicking the file's icon WITHOUT
opening it, clicking Print, and sometimes it prints most of the document
correctly. That is not happening in this case.

I am at a loss and do not know what is causing the error message, much less
what to do about it. If anyone has any suggestions of how I could possibly
rectify or work around this problem, I would be eternally grateful!

Kind regards,

Ben Evans
