I had a question about gradient shading cells in excel and received an
answer, but now I have a new problem. I have prepared the shaded cells in
excel, but when I go to copy another excel table and paste it in the
shaded area, I lose all my data. I try to bring it forward, bring it to
the front and even send the shaded cells to the back, but nothing works. I
end up having to type the data by hand into each cell. Is there a better
way to do this? I will have to generate this table every two weeks.

Thanks,

The easy way to do this is to start by making a rectangular autoshape
(make sure you have the drawing toolbar up.) The hit the arrow next to the
fill icon, amd choose fill effects. Set your gradient effect.

Now, send to graphic to the back layer so that the worksheet text shows on
top of it. (Draw - order - send to back) Resize the rectangle so it goes
under your full table.

I know how to shade cells in excel so that they are a particular color
(blue, green, pink, etc) but I was wondering if it's possible to have
shading with a gradient effect like you can in word when you use the paint
bucket in the drawing toolbar? You can do this to rectangles, squares,
autoshapes, etc. I want to create a gradient effect in a table of excel
data.
