Jim, What you are referring to is a basic query. Go to the Query tab of the Database window and select new. Choose Design View. Next, select the two tables you want. To link them select the field(s) that should be the same and drag and drop one to the same field in the second table. A single line will appear for each one of these connecting the two tables. The default setting is to only include records that are the same in each table. This means that as long as all the data in both fields match (for all fields you link) the item will appear with whatever other data you select. Once you have the query selecting everything you want, you can change your query type to Make Table instead of Select and create a table of the merged data. I have 2 spreadsheets of inventory data that I have imported into a new database as 2 seperate tables. Each table now has fields containing 'partnumber' and 'serialnumber' along with various other fields. What I want to do is compare the 2 tables, possibly generate a new combined table, or at least a report that shows ONLY the partnumbers and serialnumbers that are in both table, note each table contains other fields that I want to carry over into the new table or report. Entries that ARE NOT in both tables should be ignored. I've tried to build a quiry for this, but I havn't had any positive results yet. Unfortunately the class I just attended Tuesday didn't deal with multiple tables and the instructor refused to answer my questions except to say that would be covered in a higher level class which isn't available until mid next month. Any help is Greatly appreciated.
