It's got something to do with the margins and the way you have them set in Outlook...we've had this discussion before when this group first moved from yahoo to freelists. And I see = signs at the end of your lines below and Vic said 3D is the hexadecimal version of =, so I'm assuming your margins are being read as = signs or something. If you search our freelist archives, you will see we've talked this one to death in here in the past. I could set this group up to allow html, but that would also allow attachments and viruses so I ain't gonna do that. I'd rather deal with the occasional messy email. And, not all yahoo groups allow html ads...if the moderator sets the group for plain text mail, the ads from yahoo are also text and not graphics and Outlook would show you that that mail is plain text. But, thank God, with freelists, we don't have to deal with ads at all, and that's ONE of the reasons we all decided to move this group away from yahoo...I only wish some of the other moderators of the yahoo groups I belong to would do the same *sigh* I HATE YAHOOOOOO Linda Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com FREE MS Office eBook Tutorial http://personal-computer-tutor.com/library.htm -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mark Mucher Sent: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 4:12 PM To: mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [mso] Re: 3Ds and Ods in freelists emails Thanks, Linda! That begs an (on-topic!) Office question - Outlook (XP) is supposed to = sense the mail it is replying to and reply in a similar format. As I type, it says (Plain Text) in the blue bar. (When I reply to a Yahoo list, it says HTML since yahoo Groups adds the = html ads...) So why am I getting it in the mso list?
