I chose this subjectline, because this message was sent 20 hours ago. It’s
the best news so far. I cried with joy and relief, after reading it, early this
morning.

Tony update:
Best day so far. Thanks to your prayers, Tony made more progress today. They
removed the Foley catheter, which totally made his day. But the biggest
highlight was that he peed on his own, 3 times!!! C-Diff gut bacterial
infection is improving. He's able to get out of bed & use the walker, with just
little old me assisting. He's finally eating more food. And as you can see
here, he's enjoying a snack. His cognitive function has improved since the
Prednisone & Tacro adjustment. He has lucid conversations now. Those are 2 of
his anti-rejection drugs. He can raise the spirometer breathing-measuring
device to 2000 & beyond. So things are looking up. Tomorrow, we begin the "walk
the halls" challenge. His urine output is still low, but is clearing up, &
Tomorrow they'll determine whether he'll need a dialysis treatment, or not, if
the new kidney puts out enough urine, removing fluid & toxins. But it appears
the kidney is waking up, & is slowly beginning to do it's job. One day at a
time works for us! Until next time....â¤ï¸🫂

This afternoon I spoke with his nurse or patient assistant who knows all of his
medications, etc. So he’s more than a helper. But it sounds like he is
Tony’s personal assistant. Because of Tony’s delirium or epilepsy, I think,
they are constantly regulating his meds. He said that Tony is better today, and
he expects he’ll get better every day. They have cut his pain meds, and cut
back on his anti rejection meds, and they’re still giving him his epilepsy
meds, and Tony has seen a Physical Therapist and an Occupational Therapist
today, and although he got a little distracted, he did what was asked of him.
; He is getting up to use the bathroom, and he has a radio in his room, and the
TV has radio channels he can tune into. So, he told me that Tony’s
hospitalization is only planned for until the 3rd, but it could be longer. So,
he does need more sleep, and his hours are much different than hospital hours,
so I asked them, and he said, they are trying to keep Tony on his regular
schedule. He had dialysis yesterday morning at 6:30,which is hardly Tony’s
hours, but hopefully tomorrow’s dialysis will be later in the day. He said
they are planning to give Tony something to help him sleep tonight, so he’ll
get better that way too. Linda needs rest too. So, I thought I would share what
I found out, so like me, you may feel a little more positive about Tony’s
healing. I’m not afraid for him. God has this! The hospital phone number is:
734-936-4000 and you have to talk to the operator to ask for his room anyway,
so there’s no since in providing the room number. < o:p>

Subject: [msb-alumni] Facebook on Tony from Linda as of 20 hours ago.
Hi Facebook friends and family. First chance to write up a medical report. Tony
had to get dialysis yesterday, because he was so bloated from water retention.
He has a severe case of delirium that comes & goes. He doesn't even know how to
operate his phone. U of M Neurology is giving him a 4 hour EEG to check brain
wave activity. He also has tremors, which are really getting worse. He has
unintelligible speech, & invented vocabulary. We're looking for seizure like
behavior, he is epileptic. Later tonight, he goes for an MRI. They took out
the Foley catheter yesterday, but he has very little urine output. The
prednisone that he has to take for the rest of his life has made him very
restless, agitated & uncooperative. He can't get to the bathroom by himself,
cause he's a fall risk. He tries to get out of bed, so theres a robot monitor
in his room, that sees him getting up, & tells him to stay in bed. Then the
nurse comes in to help with the problem. There is also a patient assistant i
n the room to watch him & help to prevent him from getting out of bed. He also
goes to dialysis soon. I never slept last night, so I have to rest now. We
definitely won't be leaving here for awhile. I feel th e UTI is contributing
to the cognitive issue. I'll give another report when I know more.â¤ï¸🫂
