St. Colette (1381-1447)
Colette did not seek the limelight, but in doing God's will she certainly
attracted a lot of attention. Colette was born in Corbie, France. At 21 she
began to follow the Third Order Rule and became an anchoress, a woman walled
into a room whose only opening was a window into a church.

Moses said to the people: "Today I have set before you life and prosperity,
death and doom If you obey the commandments of the LORD, your God, which I
enjoin on you today, loving him, and walking in his ways, and keeping his
commandments, statutes and decrees, you will live and grow numerous, and the
LORD, your God, will bless you in the land you are entering to occupy. ~
Deuteronomy 30:15-20

Then he said to all, "If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny
himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:22-25

During this Holy Season of Lent we have a chance to turn back to God with
all our heart. We know we're moving in the right direction when we find it
more and more natural to obey His laws and experience the blessing of a
strengthened relationship. Like Jesus, we need to accept the crosses in our
lives and carry them with love and fidelity.

I pray that I may turn back to God with all my heart. I pray that I can
accept the crosses in my life and carry them with love. I pray that I may
always choose life.

We pray for unity in our country and that we may build a Culture of Life. We
pray for the safety of our troops, their safe return and their families at
home. We pray for a deep and profound respect for life, and for the courage
and willingness to stand up for life. We pray for one another, for those who
have asked our prayers and for those who need our prayers the most. Have a
good day!

May God Bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!

Father Pat

"Be still and know that I am God." ~Psalm 46:10

Newly written each day by Father Pat Umberger. Morning Prayer may not be
published by others, but is a good resource for preachers and those who attend
Daily Mass, and those who would like to keep up with the Lectionary Readings
and are not always able to attend Daily Mass.
