I have found that a gun screw driver set is great for working on models
with slotted screws. The set I have has one handle and an extensive array
of different sized bits, all of which have parallel sides to their tips.
These will not try to climb out of a slot and damage anything including
knuckles. Only problem is that the plastic they used for the handle has a
putrid smell that has not diminished in intensity over 30 years.
