Hi there Ken, Just a thought, but you may well want to fit a spark arrestor in the chimney or smokebox {certainly the Norwich society wouldn't allow you to run on their track Eaton Park track without one; and I'm slightly suprised that Barton House hasn't followed suit given the insurance situation}. This may well restrict the airflow, and cure the problem, as well as preventing stray sparks. Yours, Rich. PS Personally when I was younger, getting holes burnt in my clothes was half the fun. Mum assigned a special pair of trousers for trips to Barton House and Easton Park! but not everyone sees it the same way, especially nowadays.
