Jerry, what difference does it make in bigger HC-49/U or smaller DIP HC-49/S ?
Farhan have you noted any digital noise being introduced by Arduino
LCD into MINIMA exiter, while in RX mode? (as to find different LO
required)
As already suggested, yes it's a good practice keep them in two parts
(Arduino+LCD+Si570 on single PCB), then we be able to metal shield in
between duo.
Seen some MIL-grade BEL sets, there each & every module (more then 25)
is in separate casing, connected by headers & coax finally into main
enclosure...
