yes I think so.
but I think I will wait and try and save for a MacBook with snow leopard so
maybe I can buy a mac next year. I think it will be worth the wait to try the
new gesture features in snow leopard when it's out on a MacBook.

Is the pipe organ voice a good reason enough to buy a mac? It's great, we all
love it for different reasons...!

    hi,
could I use mynetbook's monitor as output for my mac somehow? to display
what is on my mac through the monitor on my netbook? I think I will get a mac
mini. I like the pipe organ voice in voiceOver and that's the only way to get
it is by buying a mac. Plus the way you use the mac is interesting to me. plus
I hear you can install windows xp onto a mac useing boot camp.

      Hi,
The Mini does not need a monitor plugged in. You don't even need a mouse.

I'm writing this message on a Mini with a keyboard connected, and it's
power supply.

When I bought my mini, the mic and web cam were not important to have
built in.

True the Mini does not run on battery but it's small enough to carry
around the house, moving it from room to room if you have AC power.

      Hope this helps.

The only way to know is to try a Mac.
The price you mentioned sounds reasonable but remember the MacMini is
not a laptop. It's a very small desktop and it needs you to give it a keyboard,
mouse, monitor, etc. As far as I know, it won't work without a monitor but I
may be wrong.
I'd personally recommend an iMac if you want a desktop or a Macbook Pro
if you need a laptop.
I also don't think the mini has a built-in mic or webcam like the iMac
does.
        Hope this helps.

          hello
I found a mac mini for $450 on amazon with the latest mac OS leopard.
What are the advantages of mac over windows? Do more applications work
on the mac than work on windows? I also want to get a mac so I can finally use
the pipe organ voice! I used a mac in Colorado and liked it. but I also like my
windows machine as well. I have a windows xp netbook. I wonder if it would play
nicely with the mac mini?
