Hey Keith, greetings!
When you say that you made duckduckgo.com your homepage, does this also mean
that Google's search window no longer remains in your toolbar?
My first experience with duckduckgo.com was rather humorous. In the search
field I wrote: "What is the average lifespan of a rattlesnake?" I got bit! I
waited for at least a minute, but the page didn't update. By the way, I
clicked on the button to the left of the search field. :)
