Hi Ricardo,

Thanks, that's much easier.

But, I got not the Add to Playlist option when I used the VO-Shift-M on the item that I want to copy. Just three options, Get Info, Unselect, and Copy. So I thought it must be copy, but that didn't the trick.

Than I thought maybe it is not possible from a streaming source such as my music server. So I did import just a single cd into the iTunes Library to see if I could copy it to a playlist.

And that was no problem at all!

So my conclusion, you can only put songs on a playlist if they are in the iTunes library.

If I'm wrong, please let me know.

Regards,

Raymond

hello raymond,

All that work is not needed to put songs in your playlists.

1. Go to the table with your songs and interact with it with VO shift down arrow. Once you are on the song you wish to add press VO shift M. This brings up the contest menu. arrow down to "Add to playlist", which is a sub menu that contains the playlist you have made. Just press return on the playlist you want to move your music to

Hi all,

My name is Raymond Jansen, live in The Netherlands and a Mac and iPhone user
since a few weeks now.

so sorry if I ask beginners questions. Before I do ask a question I will try
to find the answer on the web.

But lets start with something that keeps me awake...

I'm playing with iTunes on the Mac. I have a music server (Hifidelio) and
did setup iTunes to use it as a source, and set it up so that it doesn't
copy the songs into the iTunes library. So it streams the music from the
server to the Mac using WIFI. That just works great.

Now I'm willing to create a playlist with songs that I would like to have on
my iPhone 3GS.

I did create a new playlist, but can't get songs copied (drag and drop) from
the numberslist on to the new playlist. Here are the steps that I take:

1. Move to the numberslist and start interacting with it by using
VO-Shift-Down Arrow.
2. Move to the Name column and down to the song I want to copy.
3. Route mouse to VO cursor with VO-Command-F5.
4. When checking the mouse position with VO-F5 its on the correct name.
5. Mouse down with VO-Command-Shift-Space.
6. Turn off cursor tracking with VO-Shift-F3.
7. Stop interacting with the numberslist with VO-Shift-Up Arrow.
8. Move to the source list and start interacting with it by using
VO-Shift-Down Arrow.
9. Move to my new playlist and route the mouse pointer to the VO cursor with
VO-Command-F5.
10. When checking the mouse position I hear something about a Frame list, so
not the name of the new playlist.
11. Mouse up with VO-Command-Shift-Space.

Result:
My playlist is still empty.

Questions:
1. What did I wrong?
2. Why is the mouse pointer not on the playlist but do I hear something
about a frame list. I think this is the reason that it doesn't work.
3. How can I copy a whole album and not just single numbers. When I move to the Album colum in the numbers list and try to put the mouse pointer on the
name of the album it doesn't work and the mouse pointer stays on the Apple
icon.

Please can anybody help me out?

Cheers,

Raymond
