[macvoiceover] Re: Getting battery status

Maybe I should have asked how you check the time first before I answered your 
question. I check the time by pressing the Option key + the letter T. This is 
configured in system preferences. Is your battery level not showing up in your 
status bar by pressing the VO keys plus the letter M twice? If it is not you 
can turn that on in system prefs.
