My impression was that, because of the Mac’s Unix0based environment, antivirus
software was not needed. I know that some of these ads for “norton 360,” and
others set up a VPN, basically a type of firewall, but this can be done
manually and you don’t need to pay someone to do it. My other understanding is
that no app or file can be given access to the operating system without the
explicit permission of the user. So, if something asks you if you want to
install it, and you don’t recognize it, just say No, and it can’t be installed.
Even cookies can’ install an active app unless you tell it to. Has this
changed? I’d be grateful for up to date information if mine is out of date.
Thanks.

Good evening everyone:
If it is not an antivirus software… Then what is it?
If you are referring to it being a VPN client… That is one thing that it does…
They have an antivirus product… It’s on my machine and has removed outerwear
and Trojans…
I hope this information proves useful… Please let us know

Good afternoon Suzanne:
I have become a real fan of Malwarebytes.
I find it quite accessible… It was actually recommended to me by an Apple
representative when I was having some difficulty with my mail application.
It is quite affordable… Depending on what your needs are… If you are doing
a single machine for example… I believe the cost is about $12 for the year…
You can customize it to your liking…
I really enjoy it…
Please let me know if this information proves of use to you
Take good care and I wish you enough

Hello,
What is the most accessible anti-virus software for the Mac? My employer
would like me to use anti-virus software, as they would like everyone to
install one on their computers.
Thanks.
Best Wishes,
