Hi Suzanne
Did your employer make any recommendations or may everyone just pick an
antivirus of her/his choice? If you work in a company you probably want to try
what your other working pals use. this would be compatible and if you ever
should need some help chances are high that they can help quickly.
This said, I tried more programs that I can remember, and I never was
completely happy. Some programs were quite accessible but were lacking in the
protection they provided. Others were ticking all the boxes but were not
accessible enough or to expensive in my opinion.
In your situation I probably would get BitDefender Antivirus for mac or
something from Kaspersky. Both have a good reputation and get top marks in
AvTest comparisons. And BitDefender protects against windows treats as well, if
I’m not mistaken. However at least in bitDefender antivirus there is a very
annoying thing to do, if I remember correctly: In order to give BitDefender
access and permission to scan your hard drive you have to drag and drop it from
the finder into the program. I needed sighted help for this - just giving
permission in apples system panel didn’t work, nor paste copy or the voiceover
drag and drop commands. But once this is done I think it might be a good
solution. I just wished there would be a pricing option for just one mac only
...
Yes, Malwarebytes would have been very nice. If it just would be an antivirus
on the mac like on windows.
I personally would avoid Avast. It is reported to do some other things along
protecting agains viruses like breaching your privacy or selling your data. And
if this is true, AVG belongs to Avast now.

Except Malwarebytes is not an antivirus.

Good afternoon Suzanne:
I have become a real fan of Malwarebytes.
I find it quite accessible… It was actually recommended to me by an Apple
representative when I was having some difficulty with my mail application.
It is quite affordable… Depending on what your needs are… If you are doing a
single machine for example… I believe the cost is about $12 for the year…
You can customize it to your liking…
I really enjoy it…
Please let me know if this information proves of use to you
Take good care and I wish you enough

Hello,
What is the most accessible anti-virus software for the Mac? My employer
would like me to use anti-virus software, as they would like everyone to
install one on their computers.
Thanks.
Best Wishes,

How do
you spend it?
