No, Keychain assistant is in the applications/utilities folder. It's been
around forever in MacOS. The Keychain system is an important part of the
operating system, but in most cases, the user never has an idea that it is at
work.

It did happen after the recent 10.13.3 update right away. This has happened
before. I even had errors restoring back to yesterday when I noticed the
issue. I restored to the 10.13.2 update and all works now, I'm not very
happy about this as I've seen problems like this after every single update.
I've never heard of key chane assistant. Where can this be found? Is this
something new?

So far, I am not seeing this behavior. Did this begin after a recent
update? It sounds like, though I certainly am guessing, that something in
your keychain for resource passwords might be corrupted. You might want to
try opening the Keychain assistant and doing a repair. Again, this is just
a guess and I could be way off the mark.

Issue: programs are forgetting passwords and accounts are being
deauthorised.
One example is skype. I logged in and it forgot my work password. I
launched mail and my mail butler keeps forgetting its password, my
twitterrific keeps being deauthorised in terms of my accounts I have
there. I have no clue what's going on but I even did a full shutdown last
night and it didn't help at all. I have no clue what's going on. I
repaired permissions, I didn't do a restore yet, I will probably do that
today at some point, but this is getting insane. Any clue as to what's up,
or has anyone else come across this issue?
