Thanks for pointing out that difference between the Mac and iPhone when it
comes to iTunes. I will keep that in mind when I get there.

I finally managed to create and Apple ID on my PC after many tries. What I'd
love to do now is completely replace my use of iTunes on my PC and
manage/maintain the music library via the iPhone. I've heard that there is a
way to stream content from the iTunes library on the PC to the iPhone. I
want to go as far as possible in that direction before this weekend is out.

it'll be interesting to see your observations. you need to be aware though
that the ios interface is different than the mac os interface in at least
one fundamental way and that is that ios devides itunes into two apps. one
is the media/ipod/music app in other words, on the iphone, it's called ipod
and on the ipod touch it's called simply music. Then, itunes the app on ios
contains the store and not much else.

I am using version 10.4.1 of iTunes and JAWS 12.0.1170. I agree with you
that the later versions of both, JAWS and iTunes are more user friendly than
the earlier ones but... Yeah, I see we both agree, not a walk in the park!

I also have access to a MacBook running Snow Leopard and will be trying out
the Mac version of iTunes to compare ease of use and iPhone interface. With
the iPhone, I now have my first real incentive to play with the Mac... Maybe
that has been Apple's game plan all along!

which version of itunes are you using, the version tha was released not long
ago fixed a lot of issues. Also, there is a pretty new version of jaws that
also fixed a lot of itunes issue but I believe you and am not saying it is a
walk in the park for everyone and not even that it is necessarily an user
issue but there are configuration settings that can make it easier and also
the way it is approached can make a difference. I know a lot of quite
experienced windows users including me or at least it used to include me who
have problems with itunes on windows but I was helped a lot by being able to
use itunes on the mac and then transfering that knowledge to windows.

I'm sorry David but I DO want to point out that using iTunes (latest
version) with JAWS (latest version) gives me a real headache. I'm not new to
this stuff and I have plenty of experience and patience in dealing with
unruly apps. The unpredictability of how tabbing, shift tabbing and using F6
with JAWS in iTunes is ridiculous. I get plenty of controls without prompts;
using the JAWS cursor is not good enough... I am no beginner in using JAWS
or iTunes. As long as I only work with my music library, I can handle it
relatively well. Everything else including registering with iTunes,
configuring an iPhone and many other things that would be really cool to
master are painful at best. From reading your message, I come away with the
impression that it trouble with iTunes is totally an user issue and I
disagree.

I don't understand why Apple doesn't make their iTune Windows interface more
accessible. I bet it will draw more blind Window users to their other
devices.

I use itunes with jaws for windows with no scripts just fine. It looks an
aweful lot like itunes on the mac to me.

Hi there. Thank you very much for trying to help, but I will absolutely
never install Itunes on my PC. If I have it on the mac, that's more than
sufficient; I don't even like using it there, but since it's more or less
part of the OS, I'm willing to learn it to the best of my ability. The point
is, though, that there's no way it's ever going to touch the PC. I feel the
way about Skype, and instant messaging stuff. I just don't want to bog down
my PC with that stuff, so I put it on the mac, mostly so that I can at least
have a few reasons to own the thing.
Anyway, like I said, thanks for trying to help, but I suspect that Itunes on
my macbook is a completely different animal than itunes would be on the PC.
Missy

Hi, don't know about the Mac as I don't have one yet. Looking to get one as
quick as my pocket aloud it. But they make scripts for JFW and iTunes that
will help with this. See my previous message with the links. HTH

I was given that suggestion earlier this morning by someone on twitter when
I first experienced the problem, and tried to follow those exact steps right
away. Unfortunately, when I went to the lcd section, it just said unknown
when I switched to the other view. Same problem happened on both stations,
and when I play them in winamp, everything is fine, so it's definitely an
itunews-related problem.

ok, on the macbook in itunes, there is an "lcd section" in there, you will
find the currently playing item.

Well, I have itunes on the macbook. I have winamp on the pc. I have no idea
where I'd have to look in the app to find the info I needed. It sounds like
winamp is still my best bet for listening to internet radio if there's no
way to get Itunes to make the title and artist info easily accessible.

what were you using if not your pc? The title and artist will not show up
in the title bar. They show up inside the app.

Well, the best example would be this afternoon, I was listening to internet
radio, and I really needed the title and artist info to show up in the
title bar, and no matter what I did, Itunes couldn't do it, so I had to use
my PC, which was fine, but it made things a bit difficult.

I'd be interested in such a podcast too. I've had to use itunes this

Is there a podcast on itunes for well, idiots. I don't even qualify for the
dummy stage at this point.
Have a great weekend folks.
