Avram Oliver Messiaen.
His full name appears to be Olivier-Eugène-Prosper-Charles Messiaen (no Avram this time).
There are at least two sites devoted exclusively to him and his works: www.oliviermessiaen.net/ and www.oliviermessiaen.org/Your prize, Donal, is a digital garden warbler - apparently one of the more influential birds in Messiaen's work. Enter the term ' Sylvia borin' into Google Advanced Image Search or some similar search engine and take your pick from the approximately 8,000 images (and for adding the 'Avram' take your pick from the over 44,000 images of 'tweety bird').
Of course, you may want to hear the bird (the garden warbler, that is) sing. If so, go to:

Date: Wednesday, 10 December, 2008, 11:36 AM Today - a centenary. He was born 10 Dec. 1908 - the son of a poet and a teacher of English (but his métier was not one of the literary arts). A passionate amateur ornithologist (which is reflected in many of his works), he apparently experienced a mild form of synaesthasia and experimented with perametrization [don't ask me - I'm reading the term today for the first time myself!] . One of his masterpieces was created in 1941 under the most appalling of conditions while a prisoner of war interned in camp Stalag VIII-A (which should eternally serve as both inspiration and admonishment to those of us who worry about or complain of less-than-optimal atmosphere, or paucity of materials of sufficient quality, for creative endeavour).
