Today, January 19, 2008 is ARTIST AS OUTLAW DAY. It is also TENDERNESS TOWARD
EXISTENCE DAY.

Yay, yay, yay for today.

Today in 1812 Luddites torched the Oatlands Mill in Yorkshire, England. Yay
for what little good it did!

Today in 1825 Ezra Daggett & nephew Thomas Kensett patent food storage in tin
cans. Yay sardines!

Today in 1839 Artist Paul Cézanne was born. 140 years later, in the movie
"Manhattan", Woody Allen's despondent character Isaac lists reasons to live.
One of them is Cézanne's pears. Cézanne's still-lifes (the French call them
'natures mortes') are food for eye & the soul. Yay for food! Yay for the eye
and the soul! Yay for Cézanne. Yay for Woody Allen. Yay for reasons to live!

Today in 1865 Pierre-Joseph Proudhon died. Early French anarchist
philosopher/economist and author of What is Property?. His famous answer:
"Property is theft!" Boo property. Boo theft.

Why do anarchists drink herbal tea?
                          Chef Pierre-Joseph sez it's because,
                          "Proper-Tea is theft!"

Snicker at bad puns!

Today in 1915 the world famous labor organizer & songster Joe Hill was arrested
in Salt Lick City, Utah. He was convicted on trumped up murder charges, &
executed 21 months later.

Boo the Man, boo Utah, boo all the workers who don't know and genuflect to the
name of Joe Hill.

Today in 1944 a very dear friend of mine was born. Very yay my dear friend.
