Realtors called the area in which PNCA is located, "the Pearl
District." The result of this hype was that a bunch of decrepit
warehouses got turned into lofts and the like. Since then the whole
area has been yuppified, or dinkified, or whatever the current term
is. There are shops for knicks and shops for knacks. There are places
you take your dog to day care. There is a shop that specializes in
pedicures, feet only. A shop for chartreuse polish on the nails of
your left hand will be coming soon, no doubt.
The latest sight? On my way to work yesterday, I saw a dog in a fleece
coat, being walked by Cruella da Ville or some such lady. So? Lots of
ditzy dogs are paraded in coats.
This was a Malamute/Husky cross. Hair sufficient for an Arctic
crossing.
