Omar Kusturica wrote: "In these days, there is the international law, based on treaties signed by governments. When a government signs an international treaty, it undertakes an obligation to establish and implement the appropriate legislation." 'International law' is a misnomer. There is an important difference between a treaty and a law. There is no political body that establishes particular 'International laws' and there is no such body that enforces those laws. What gives international agreements or treaties their status is their being affirmed by particular governments. A government can withdraw from a treaty but no individual can withdraw from a law. "The political position of the Hamas (not yet the government) has changed, and even before it was more complex than is conveyed by the above phrase." Hamas, today, re-affirmed that it refuses to accept the existence of Israel. "This does no more than avoid the issues, rendering the debate pointless." If you say so. But why did you go on for another five sentences?
