P. Junger quotes my: >I wouldn't get too involved with the details of >Simone Weil's analysis of 'gravity', which in >any case is only a mistranslation of 'pensateur', >thinker, a reference to the famous sculpture by >French author, Pierre Rodin. and writes: >There are several casts of the Thinker, which was >sculpted by Rodin I. One cast was exploded >here in Cleveland: >The Thinker >Foreign title: Le Penseur >Rodin (French, 1840 - 1917). Thanks for the reference. Incidentally, I notice I was wrong in quoting the title of Weil's book as "pensateur". It's "pesanteur" -- an altogether different (French) word -- alas.
