Continuing the discussion of "paradigms" of the philosophical life and philosophical work and analysis, could anyone presently in attendance explain how philosophy is transformed when "natality and the female body that births are placed at the centre of our thinking"? Dundee is a wonderful little town - much like St. John's actually, both geographically and socially - but I hesitate to make the journey without some assurance that the topics to be addressed are cogent ones. Keynote speakers: Christine Battersby and Adriana Cavarero This international conference on feminist philosophy takes as its starting point the influential work of our two keynote speakers. In different ways, both Battersby and Cavarero have shown how philosophy and politics are transformed when natality and the female body that births are placed at the centre of our thinking. The aim of the conference is to explore feminist lines of thought that open up from or intersect with key aspects of their work.
