Hello,
I remember working on trranslating liblouisutdml for Windows many years ago.
The problem is mostly that it uses various libraries that must also have
Windows
versions. Whereas liblouis is written in pure C and does not depend on any
libries, liblouisutdml depends on libraries for parsing xml, interpreting
arguments,
etc. Others have made successful translations, but they are not up to date.
Unfortunatgely, i can't remember names at the moment.

Hello Bert!
Thank you for creating that issue!
I rarely if at all need to directly translate or backtranslate
anything on the file level as I use neither printed Braille nor
Braille input.
But if someone wanted to translate or backtranslate something using
LibLouis on Windows, is there a tool they would typically use?
All the best,
Felix

Hi Felix.
No, at the moment we don't make any pre-compiled versions of liblouisutdml
available, at least no up-to-date versions.
I have created a Github issue with some tips in case anyone wants to tackle
this problem: https://github.com/liblouis/liblouisutdml/issues/66. I don't
have the time and motivation to do it myself.

I honestly gave up in this situation. Its been years since this has
been talked about, and for some reason its been impossible to compile
any binaries for windows. But then there is a script APH made called
send2braille which only supports English so its just a dead end.

Hello list!
Are there any precompiled Windows and/or Mac binaries available for
liblouisutdml, especially for file2braille? I am sure that tool would
be the exact solution for a problem I am facing, but I can't seem to
find any binaries and currently don't have the resources to get
everything set up to compile them.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Felix
