I have the 3-part set and have only experimented with them on the 40/6.8. However, the threads are long and very fine... I can't imagine them unscrewing at any point, accidentally.

I have used them extensively with the 90 Summicron and the 180/4 Elmar, and have had great success. Again, never even a hint of anything coming unscrewed.

BTW: The combination give 30mm or 55mm extensions, depending on whether or not the central tube is used.
