Leica already made it's version of Silicon Film; it's called DMR. It's not the size of a film cartridge, but at least it works.

p.s. DMR2 (half the size and bulk of DMR) that fits Leicaflex and R8/9 would be great idea though.

   The DMR only fit two kinds of camera.  Silicon
film would fit any.
