Hi Peter,
Thanks for the well wishes.
All of my M Leica lenses have been encoded. It may help a bit with corner
distortion and vignetting but it doesn’t seem to make much difference in
my real world experience. Nice to know what focal length you have used however.

I “second” David’s best wishes for your and Mrs Crummer’s health, Howard. I
like both of the images - the expression on both of the young girls is
priceless - a TV gaze with mouth agape…”close your mouth Peter, or you’ll catch
flies” is what I vaguely remember being told while watching TV as a very small
child. :)
Say, a question for you as a Leica M10 user, and I guess for Peter K., too,
should he see this. Did you have your lens engraved or are your lens already
cut with the 6-bit codes that I’ve been reading about? If you did, is there any
advantage to it. I’ve been reading about the feature and wondering just how
much it adds to the usefulness of the lens. Thanks.
Best regards,
Peter S.
