I have been enjoying your travelogue, David. It looks like it was an
amazing trip. Great shots. Looks like the weather cooperated, too. Moody
when you wanted, like at Sveta Troitsa Cathedral. Keep them coming.

Subject: [LRflex] More travelogue ... The Iron Gates
The Iron Gates often refers to an 83 mile-long stretch of the Danube River
separating Serbia and Romania.
More specifically, it is a complex of two hydro-electric dams & power
stations which hold the water back, creating the gorge. - along with a set
of locks, for navigation.
The dams generate (we are told) 30% of Romania's power and 100% of Serbia's
electrical needs.
We approached the locks just after dawn, and it was only when we got fairly
close that they emerged from the mist.
Here is a 4 panel pano, of the approach.

Clicking on the image will give you a somewhat larger image that you can
roll over it with your mouse, to navigate.
Enjoy!
David.
