Wow! David, you and Howard are masters of the Pano image! That’s a wonderful
image! The mist off to the left just takes the image from a nice travel memory
into a special story-type image in my view.

More specifically, it is a complex of two hydro-electric dams & power
stations which hold the water back, creating the gorge. - along with a set of
locks, for navigation.
The dams generate (we are told) 30% of Romania's power and 100% of Serbia's
electrical needs.
We approached the locks just after dawn, and it was only when we got fairly
close that they emerged from the mist.
