Silkypix was a software freebie with some higher end Panasonic Lumix cameras - never used it with my Lumix FZ-30 but friends have... I need to re-explore it... --- On Sat, 2/13/10, David Young <dsy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: David Young <dsy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [LRflex] Re: Leimography with a Digilux.... Of these, Xavier, I like the last, the best... though the colours are highly saturated, it is not "over-saturated" as are, to my mind, the first two. Looks like you had fun! Did you bring back any "normal" photos from Malta? >Please, if you flame me, turn up the heat, we are freezing in Paris. Amazing... all these European photos of snow and ice... and here, in Canada, where snow and ice are considered "normal", for this time of year, our snow is melting. Temperature, as I write, is -1.4C, but yesterday (and most recent days) it has reached +6C or more! Last Thursday we had some light snow, in the morning, but by afternoon it had turned to rain! The sun is bright and warm, while our roads are clear and dry. I don't know why I bothered buying snow tires! >Tell me David, Shall I send you a postcard with some snow >hidden under the stamp, as a humble trbute to the Olympics? Yes, do send snow! Vancouver is desperate for the stuff... and at the Cypress Mountain, they're trucking it in from Manning Park... a 3 hour drive away. Despite a thousand truck loads, there is no way they can cover the hills, so they've also brought in 1000 bales of hay, which they've used to "sculpt" the course and then cover it with a "skim layer" of snow! VanOC has lots of snow making machines... but it's too warm to use them! Whistler, OTOH, is doing much better... with lots of natural snow. (Something had to go right!) Let us hope that yesterday's unfortunate death of the young, Georgian, Luge slider, Nodar Kumartashvili ,is the last accident of the games. David. --- David Young Logan Lake, Canada.
