David, I don't think this is any indication of the S2's appeal (or lack of).  
It's an entirely new market for Leica, not one that existing Leica users (isn't 
that what LHSA is?) fit.  Several dealers are reporting the announced pricing 
has caused no cancellations from their S2 waiting lists.

Likewise.  For now the DMR is still producing fabulous files (main and backup). 
 I won't reach any conclusions about my future Leica purchases until the future 
arrives.  The adequate solution Leica has hinted at may or may not be 
appropriate for my needs, we'll have to see when the time comes.
