If you feel like strolling round the park at Chambord this is the place:

The castle was built by/for François 1st , who only used it for about 45
days ... Public money ? Yes!
Yet, all things considered and judging from the number of tourists
around, I guess the state, which owns the property has now covered the
expense a couple of times.
