Hi Tim!

Yeah... me too! I got to that stage after about 6 months withs the 20D. :-)
Mind you, the LeiCanon 20D is a viable option, for a whole lot less money.
But, I'm enjoying the brigher finder of the R8 tremendously.

Just took a shot of my grandaughter, a head & shoulders portrait with the 90mm
Summicron. Blow it up, and even on the camera back LCD you can easily count
the individual eyelashes! That's the sort of fine detail that I couldn't get
with the 20D. At least, not at that distance.

Most people would never use it... except, possibly, as you say above. But for
users like me, who use the Telyt 400 f6.8 w/2x converter as a regular item (f
13.6 wide open...but more normally used at f16 for a wee bit of DOF), it's
invaluable. I am **so** pleased it works! :-)

I've heard of this problem. Has Leica a fix? Has it been fixed in my DM-R. I
don't know. So far, mine has not fallen off.

I've just returned from taking about 22 photos at -10 (- 20 with the wind
chill factor)... the DM-R worked flawlessly, but then I was only out for about
40 minutes.

And that's all the news that's prit to fint for now!

Cheers!
