In the South, the summers can be oppressive, though this one hasn't been
terrible. Two things we look for that remind us that those cold 60 degree
winter days are ahead; That's the cool early September morning, and the
appearance of the spider lily. Spider lilies grow from bulbs, so they come
up every year.

Sometimes they volunteer in a new spot, perhaps planted by an animal, maybe
just a natural surprise.

This morning, I stepped across the street, to look around Adrene's garden,
and realized that I've shown you most of what she has blooming right now.
Henri the kittten was helping me, and he caught my eye over on the edge of
the yard.

There, I spotted something white. Not white; it was a pale yellow spider
lily. I don't recall ever seeing one "in person," so today you get to see
my first.
