Hi all - About 35 or so sparrows and finches at the feeder this morning but I noticed one which behaved differently from the house sparrows and finches. Upon closer look I found it was a chipping sparrow. Another first for me at the feeder in Lubbock. A cardinal family and a couple of blue jays have started coming by every morning to grab a snack - i.e. they eat a couple of the larger pieces of cracked corn and then move on. The neighborhood feral cat (no collar) has been having fun stalking the doves. A couple of squirrels come by early to take a drink, but the birds pretty much ignore them.
