I have become deaf to the point that I cannot hear the birds at all, making it
very difficult to locate them. I would not be of value on any count trips any
more. I can only see the birds if someone locates and points them out to me.
The Swisher Country 'refuge' might be a great idea, except for the fact that
LEAS was incorporated in 1977 as a unit of the National Audubon Society, with
responsibility for a specific 15 county area. Swisher County is outside that
specified area. It could make an interesting 'unofficial' side trip.

You might want to consider Swisher County, Tulia. There is a "wildlife refuge"
about 5 miles east of Tulia. It is just south of my family farm. It is owned
by the city and is not being used and there is really no wildlife biologist
working there that I know of. We could find other spots too. I could work to
get you permission.
