Both Poorwills are still there. If you want to see them, go now! They’ve
been there at least 2-3 days and with the fronts that are coming we could
lose them any night. Got some nice pics with tips from Danny :)

We went out at 11:00 this morning and found one poorwill in the gravel
that runs along the front of the parking lot. We saw it from the grassy
field near some small bushes. We also had an osprey fly out of one of the
trees we walked under. We certainly weren’t expecting that! There was also
a grasshopper sparrow, white crowned sparrow, house wren, Nashville
warbler, orange crowned warbler, Lincoln’s sparrows, and a bunch of
Spotted towhees. We were only there 30 minutes and were mostly looking on
the ground and still got a nice list.

being the weekend, if you haven’t gotten a good look at one before or
just want to see one again, now seems to be the time. The best bet is be
to scan the landscaping gravel. There’s obviously no guarantee of
finding one, but if anyone would like help, I can meet you during an
afternoon or early evening to look. I have included the link to the TTU
HSC parking map with the visitor parking lot on it. It is not a far walk
from the Preston Smith Library where we have been birding on campus.
