Hi All,
It was a lot of fun today chasing birds with other bird nerds at Tahoka Lake
Pastures. Thanks to Glenda, Lena, and Manuel for planning and organizing
today’s outing. It was sure good to see everyone!
This evening I sat in the backyard and watched for the Anna’s Hummingbird-I had
not seen it since Wednesday morning. It showed up and stayed for about 30
minutes. The number of Rufous Hummingbirds have dropped significantly here at
the house, so I think the Anna’s has expanded its territory and spending less
time in my yard.
I also saw a female Broad-tailed Hummingbird (it has been here for several
days) and earlier in the day, I saw a first fall male Rufous Hummingbird at the
feeder.
