Hi All,
I'm having weird USB problems on my main server. ... What I'm assuming to be
power related - Just want a second opinion b4 I go out and buy a 425 watt
PSU one. . .
PUS - Generic 300 Watt
Motherboard - Genuix XI
Processor - 2 PIII 500's with active cooler
Video - ATI 2000
Network - 2 3com, 1 intel (onboard)
Disk - SCSI 10k Seagate & 1 Maxtor D740X, 1 52x CDROM
Fans (excluding CPU & PSU) - 2 x 80mm YS-Tech & 1 x 40MM generic on SCSI
disk cooler.
What happens is. . . . From boot up everything is cool. . . USB works, fan
work. 5 minutes or so into operation, the USB device dies - NO power to is
at all.
I have tried using a powered USB hub - same. (that's what confused me - as
this is supposed to solve USB power problems.
When the machine is under heavy load. . . I can sometimes hear the fan's
slow down for a second - is this normal?
