My X5D is (an integral) part of a larger kit used to create Abstract Ambient music. The total kit consists of: Korg X5D Yamaha SU700 Roland Mc303 Roland Juno-106 As well as various FX... including; Sherman Filterbank ART FXR ART FXR Elite II and a bunch o' stomp boxes and other noise makers....... I, as well as another artist, do monthly shows at a local "watering hole", where we showcase local artists and occasionally (when we can convince others to join in) out of town artists. The X5D is not used exclusively, but in conjunction with other instruments (gear). I use the MC303 to "drive" the X5D ('cause I like the sounds in it better than the 303) as well as sync up (bpm wise) the SU700. I let the 303 control the X5D (I also do the odd "lead" here and there) while I twiddle and tweak samples/loops/ phrases, etc on the SU700. I also use a Sony Minidisc to fill in the holes between choons and help keep the flow going while I load up the next choon in the set(s). If you're interested in hearing my latest effort (recorded "live" on January 26th of this year) just click the link in my signature. It will take you to the page where the 30 minute Hi-Fi set can be downloaded (or streamed in Lo-Fi). The set is broken up into two seperate downloads.... only because the site won't let me upload single files greater than 15Mb (or something like that). Anywho.... That's about it. Nothing special.... just your average, run-of-mill, overly ambitious ambient type stuff. ;-) Feel free to let me know whatcha think of the choons (if you listen, that is......) Cheers!!
