Zonk! Don't be ashamed of your old computer. An old computer is more likely to work with the Korg Editor than a new one. You don't even need 100MHz. I am sure that 1Mhz would be sufficient. The Korg Editor is best run with older Windows versions. I run it on a 90Mhz laptop with Win95. >I can't get it to edit the sounds on my X5DR. What should I check? First make sure that you have gone through all nessecary installation steps. (I had a hard time installing it on the Win95). Next, someone more experienced than me will tell you how to choose the right MIDI driver etc. etc. You should also check the communication rate on the X5DR. It must be set to 38 kbps for PCs, and all the MIDI filters in the global page should be set to ENA - enabled - to allow communication. >Also: What I would like to do is create new sounds and save them on my >computer. Is this possible? Do I have to buy any software? If so, what do you >recommend? The Korg Sound Editor is the program you want. Now, there are differences between the X5 and the X5DR and that may cause problems, but someone on this list definitely must have some experience with that issue.
